  • The Williamson County Library Foundation announced its Love Our Libraries fundraiser on Feb. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Main Library. The event will fund new literacy initiatives and library expansion projects with designs by Manuel Cuevas, music by Johnny Clawson, and a silent auction sponsored by Atmos Energy.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Ron Crites will honor George Jones with a tribute show called The Possum at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center, 112 Everbright Avenue, on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $30 for adults and $27.50 for seniors (discounts available for groups of 10 or more).  Williamson County Source

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Williamson Inc. celebrated 87 ribbon-cuttings last year and is scheduling more events in January + local officials say these planned celebrations signal continued small business growth in Williamson County.  Williamson Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Historical Commission and the State Historic Preservation Office are accepting grant applications from Jan. 19 through Feb. 28 for projects that document and restore historic sites in the state. Grants reimburse 60 percent of project costs with a 40 percent match from grantees.  Williamson County Source
