EDUCATION NEWS

  • Centennial High will present 'Alice by Heart' from Thursday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 1 at 5050 Mallory Lane in Franklin — while Independence High will stage CHICAGO: Teen Edition at 1776 Declaration Way in Thompson’s Station with multiple showtimes.  Williamson County Source
  • Registration for the SACC Summer Camp opens Feb. 26 and will run from May 28 until July 31 at 11 local elementary schools. Parents can choose part-time care for $44 per day + full-time enrollment for $192 per week + a $45 non-refundable fee.  Williamson County Source
  • Centennial High’s varsity basketball cheer team is hosting its second annual tryout prep cheer camp for rising fifth through rising ninth graders on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 5050 Mallory Lane in Franklin. Campers can choose one session (morning: 9 a.m. to noon; afternoon: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) at $50 each.  Williamson County Source

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • TEMA and the National Weather Service have announced Severe Weather Awareness Week, Feb. 15–21 (which will offer daily safety tips for building emergency kits, making plans, and receiving alerts) to help residents prepare for spring storms. A free event at Trevecca University is set for Feb. 21.  Williamson County Source

  • Franklin Police Department invites community members to attend Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. at Chick-fil-A at 3063 Mallory Ln where attendees can ask questions and explore police vehicles with a special Touch-a-Truck display.  Williamson County Source
