- ➤ Marcia Allen, a longtime Franklin community leader who began as a math tutor and substitute teacher, brought change as the first elected Black Alderman and Vice-Mayor and now serves on local boards to improve affordable housing and balance our city's rapid growth. Williamson Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Allena Bell serves on the Franklin Special School District board and encourages local youth to return home to help build the community. She regularly visits schools, supports arts and aerospace initiatives, and thanks teachers and students (an effort to nurture local talent). Williamson Herald
- ➤ Student Support Services will host a Resource Fair on March 17 at Embassy Suites Cool Springs (820 Crescent Center Drive, Franklin) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a one-hour break; the event will link individuals with disabilities to local and state supports for education, training, and work.
