  • Downtown Franklin Association (DFA) announced winners of the Downtown Franklin Awards on March 5 at The Franklin Theatre. The event recognized local businesses and community leaders in several destination categories for 2025.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson Inc. hosted its quarterly Nonprofit Roundtable on March 20 at Columbia State Community College. Local nonprofit leaders gained insights into fundraising trends plus effective donor engagement from economic development officer Nathan Zipper.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Dunkin’s Next Generation restaurant in Franklin is holding its grand opening celebration today at 8 a.m. at (1306 Murfreesboro Road) with free coffee for the first 100 guests and swag, and a ribbon-cutting at 9:30 a.m. will be followed by a $5,000 donation check to the Nashville Children’s Alliance.  Williamson County Source
  • Serrato’s will open Roots Prime Italian Chophouse soon at 440 Cool Springs Boulevard, the former Old Chicago Pizza space that has stayed vacant since 2024. The new Italian restaurant will add a fresh dining option to the local scene.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Athletic Brewing Company hosts two Walker Hayes pop-up events today. Fans can join at 12 p.m. CT in Nashville at Frugal MacDoogal (701 Division St.) and at 3:30 p.m. CT in Brentwood at Total Wine and More to sip the American Pale Ale inspired by 'Fancy Like.'  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Columbia State Community College is accepting summer admission applications until May 22 — the summer semester starts May 27 — and fall admission applications until August 21 with classes beginning August 24. Campus tours are available for new and returning students across all campuses.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee County Clerk released Williamson County’s business licenses for March 16-23, 2026. The list features new local enterprises such as Bluestone Bookkeeping, Dog Haus, and Grit and Grace in Franklin (and includes additional businesses in Nolensville, Spring Hill, and Fairview).  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin Police Department is hosting a free active shooter response seminar Monday, March 30 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Room at its headquarters (900 Columbia Ave); community members can attend without registration.  Williamson County Source
  • Motorists face lane closures across Middle Tennessee due to scheduled roadwork on I-24 and I-65 that includes milling, paving and repairs occurring today and through March 28. Drivers should plan ahead for intermittent delays during both day and night work periods.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • TriStar Nolensville ER hosted a blessing event today as it installed the first Safe Haven Baby Box in Williamson County to offer parents in crisis a safe, anonymous option for surrendering newborns. The temperature-controlled box is monitored 24/7 and integrates with local emergency services — ensuring immediate care.  Williamson County Source

  • On March 22, the Nashville Predators edged the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 at United Center as Filip Forsberg scored twice including an overtime winner 65 seconds into play.  Williamson County Source
