CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today, Luke Combs visited the Country Music Hall of Fame where he performed and spoke with nearly 600 local students. He discussed his journey from blue-collar roots to a top music career and performed two songs — Fast Car and When it Rains it Pours — for the students. Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Some of the district's top student musicians came together on March 20—21 for the 2025 WCS Jazz Honor Band as middle and high school students rehearsed for two days before performing a special community concert on March 21 that was later available on the WCS YouTube channel. - ➤ Several WCS middle and high school robotics teams will compete in the VEX Robotics World Championship in May in Dallas after winning at state championships—teams from Woodland Middle, Brentwood High, and Ravenwood High prepared with strong support from their faculty sponsors. The teams now look ahead to competing against some of the best robotics programs from around the world. Williamson County Source
- ➤ On March 19, WCS Superintendent Jason Golden surprised the district by naming the Classified Employees of the Year—Christy Byrd of Arrington Elementary, Amanda White of Fairview Middle and LeaAnn Smith of Independence High—in a special ceremony that honored workers from across all schools. - ➤ Ravenwood High students returned the Sarah Bayrd American History Bowl title on March 25 after defeating peers in a Jeopardy-style contest held at the end of February—Franklin High placed second and Summit High finished third. Williamson County Source
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee and Williamson Health will offer sports physicals for rising 9th—12th graders from Williamson County on Saturday, April 26 at its main location in Franklin at 3000 Edward Curd Lane. Student-athletes must arrive during their scheduled timeslot with completed and signed forms and pay $20 to be eligible for sporting participation this school year. Williamson County Source

- ➤ Mineo's Pizza & Wings—celebrating 20 years in business this year—is known for its made-from-scratch pizza and buffalo wings that have kept local customers returning. The family-owned restaurant at 330 Mayfield Dr A-11 in Franklin recently added owner Jenn Mineo's son PJ, who plans to boost its social media presence and hopes to open more locations in the future.
