- ➤ PumpkinFest expands to a two-day event as organizers adjust plans to ease crowds and support local vendors; the festival will run on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25 in downtown and is free and family friendly. Williamson County Source
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ MCA hosted its 17th Annual 'Team MCA: Live At The Ryman' during Country Radio Seminar on March 28, showcasing emerging talent and established hitmakers in a local music showcase. Performers included 49 Winchester, Jacob Hackworth, and Keith Urban + others previewing new releases. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The Doobie Brothers have announced a tour stop at Franklin’s FirstBank Amphitheater on October 11. The tour begins September 26 in Northfield and celebrates the 50th anniversary of their album Takin’ It To The Streets (released in 1976). Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Local school ensembles impressed judges in regional winter guard and indoor percussion competitions. Ravenwood High’s indoor percussion group — headed to the world championships April 16-18 — earned top honors while teams from Centennial, Franklin, Independence and Summit also secured first-place awards. - ➤ Grassland Middle and Franklin High have been named among 10 Tennessee schools to receive the Tennessee Arts Academy 2026 Arts Rich Schools of Merit recognition — both schools are finalists for award honors in their grade levels, with the winners announced later this spring and celebrated in July. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Tennessee Department of Transportation is managing lane closures for ramp work, paving and other road projects across Middle Tennessee starting March 29. Work will pause during the holiday weekend from 6:00 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 2 until 6:00 p.m. Monday, Apr. 6 on interstates and state highways. Williamson County Source
