- ➤ The Williamson County Fair announced key leadership changes as Paul Webb becomes Board Chairman and Diane Giddens assumes the new role as Past Chairman, with County Mayor Rogers Anderson appointed Chair-Elect and Tom Tunnicliffe joining as 2nd Vice-Chair. The fair also named Matt Buchanan as its first full-time Fair Manager and will be held August 1 through August 9 at the AgExpo — marking a new leadership era for the award-winning event. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Southern California-based jewelry brand Gorjana will open its third store in the greater Nashville area on Friday, April 11th at 5001 Aspen Grove Drive, Suite 124 at McEwen Northside next to Vuori in Franklin. The store will offer personalized styling sessions — exclusive shopping perks will be available to mark the opening. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The Harpeth Hotel will relaunch its signature onsite restaurant—now called 1799 Kitchen & Bar Room—in April with a refreshed menu, updated decor and enhanced outdoor seating. A local focus group guided the changes so the venue stays true to Franklin's history. Williamson County Source
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Studio Tenn will end its historic 15th season with a production of ‘Jersey Boys’ running May 1–18 at Turner Theater in The Factory. The musical will feature Broadway veterans who bring the iconic songs of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to life. Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On April 2, Independence High students watched a realistic mock DUI crash demonstration on their practice soccer field. The exercise was organized by the school’s Criminal Justice program — working with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Fire and EMS, and Vanderbilt Life Flight — to show the dangers of impaired driving before prom. - ➤ Williamson County Schools announced that graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2025 will take place from May 22nd to May 25th at each school in the district. Each school set its own schedule —including events at venues like Lipscomb University Allen Arena and Summit High’s Auditorium—and will provide updates if rain dates are needed. - ➤ The Williamson County School District said that the Out of Zone online application window for the 2025-26 school year will close April 15 except for moves, International Baccalaureate programs or new employees. Families must complete their application by April 15 and will be told on April 16 through the School Mint program if a spot is available. Williamson County Source
- ➤ WCS middle and high school students competed in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Championships in Bowling Green, Kentucky from March 28 to March 30. Spring Station Middle's indoor drumline, Franklin High's winter guard, Page High's indoor percussion and Summit High's indoor percussion all won first in their classes — a repeat win for some teams after years of hard practice.
