COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Williamson County DUI Court Foundation donated $26,000 at its 6th Annual Golf Classic to support the DUI Recovery Court program (which operates without county funding) and will host its 7th Annual Golf Classic on Nov. 2 to boost recovery efforts in the community.  Williamson Herald
  • In Williamson County this weekend, Barnes and Noble Storytime is in Brentwood on Saturday, the free Main Street Festival in Franklin runs Saturday and Sunday, alpaca yoga and a Spring Hill bus tour are on Saturday, and Sips for Species is tonight (6:30 to 9:30 p.m.).  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • At The Factory at Franklin, the first phase of its new museum opened in Building 8 today (showcasing historic stoves, furnaces, and ads that trace its industrial past) as part of an ongoing plan to add interactive exhibits and guided tours on Wednesdays and Fridays through October.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ali Adair is running for the District 10 seat on the Williamson County Board of Education with the primary on May 5. A lifelong county resident and community leader, she aims to boost safe, strong schools and urges early voting open through April 30 (Williamson County).  Williamson Herald
  • The Saint Constantine School of Middle Tennessee announced its new Franklin campus at 140 SE Parkway Court, set to welcome 65 students for the 2026–27 school year this August, and held an information meeting on Thursday, April 23, at Mercy Community Healthcare (143 SE Parkway Court) for parents and educators.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Elliott Franklin, a candidate for the Williamson County Board of Education’s District 10 seat, plans to review school board policies and budgets to improve teacher flexibility and academic outcomes before the May 5 primary (early voting is available until April 30).  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson Medical Center earned the CareChex Award for No. 1 Medical Excellence in spinal fusion and was ranked among the top 10% nationally for women’s health services, highlighting its use of advanced techniques and coordinated care (from preoperative planning to recovery).  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • Title Boxing Club Franklin introduced The Confidence Club — a weekly youth boxing class for ages 10 to 14 that builds physical and mental strength. The class meets every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at Title’s McEwen Southside gym on West McEwen Drive in Cool Springs.  Williamson County Source
