  • Williamson County hosts five events this weekend: Nolensville Buttercup Festival on Saturday at Nolensville Road, lantern hikes at Owl's Hill starting Friday in Brentwood, Franklin Makers Market and a Garden Festival in Franklin & Spring Hill Founders Day in Spring Hill.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • American Idol contestants including Philmon Lee, Lucas Leon & Julian Kalel will perform at the fourth annual Franklin Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug. 1 at The Factory at Franklin.   • Franklin Rodeo runs May 14–16 at Williamson County Ag Expo Park (4215 Long Ave) featuring professional barrel racing, bronc riding and bull riding plus family activities. Downtown festivities include a rodeo parade on May 9 and a free family party on May 13 to mark the 75th event.  Williamson County Source
  • Vintage at the Factory returns on Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Liberty Hall where 40 vendors will offer vintage and handmade clothing and jewelry, with free parking and $5 entry for adults while kids 12 and under enter free.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Greers Society won Battle Ground Academy’s 87th tug-of-war on Wednesday, Apr. 29 over the Harpeth River near Westhaven subdivision. The long-standing contest (dating to 1935) pits Upper School literary societies against one another.  Williamson Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Winter Storm Fern survivors who receive FEMA help can file for a state sales tax refund of up to $2,500 on certain items used to fix their home. Survivors should save receipts and file claims via the TNTAP website or by mail within one year of their FEMA decision letter.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Today through May 31, families can enjoy a 20% discount on kids bikes and gear at Play It Again Sports in Brentwood and Hendersonville, which supports children's health by encouraging outdoor exercise and building confidence through cycling.  Williamson County Source
