COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On May 14, the Down-in-the-Dirt Free Family Night—an auxiliary event to the Franklin Rodeo—will be held at Williamson Co. Ag Expo Park to offer inclusive rodeo activities such as bouncy bulls, a roping station, and pony rides with support from local sponsors and adaptive volunteers.  Williamson County Source
  • Visit Franklin is hosting a free block party on May 8 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Visitor Center in downtown Franklin to mark National Travel & Tourism Week — the event will offer food from Waldo’s Chicken and Beer, specialty mocktails from The Fab Tap, music by DJ Doug Griffin, a 1977 Volkswagen Bus photo booth, and surprise giveaways including $10 gift credits for the first 200 guests.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Construction on the Carousel of Dreams at The Factory at Franklin began in December and it will open on May 31. The carousel will feature 32 hand-carved figures and two chariots—each ticket sold supports local charities through The Circle of Giving.  Williamson County Source
  • Nissan Stadium in Franklin is set to host six outdoor events this spring and summer. The schedule includes the Savannah Bananas on May 10 plus AC/DC on May 20, CMA Fest from June 5 to 8, Coldplay on July 22, a Drum Corps competition on July 25 at 7:30 p.m. and The Weeknd on August 12.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Allison Wright, a seventh-grade science teacher at Freedom Middle School, is one of three Tennessee finalists for the national Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (sponsored by the National Science Foundation) that will offer a $10,000 prize and a paid trip to Washington, D.C.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson County health inspectors completed routine checks at food service and child care facilities from April 29 to May 6, 2025—inspection scores have been posted for public review.  Williamson County Source

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Southern Land Company celebrated the groundbreaking of Astor Club and Residences, a new rental community for adults 55 and older in Westhaven in Franklin. The 10-acre project—set to include 211 rental units across three buildings with amenities like pools, firepits, and a theater—is scheduled for completion by fall 2027.  Williamson County Source
