- ➤ American Idol finalist Mattie Pruitt released her single 'Strings' after performing (with the top seven finalists including the Goo Goo Dolls) on Sunday, and she expressed thanks on social media as she returned to Nashville. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The inaugural Franklin Cocktail Festival will be held on June 7 at Westhaven Lakeside where guests will sample unique cocktails including Casamigos Spicy Jalapeno Margarita and Ketel One Espresso Martini while enjoying live entertainment. - ➤ The Franklin Fire Department and Williamson County Schools will hold a Signing Day event on Thursday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m. at Franklin Fire Station 2—students chosen for the FFD Internship Academy and the WCS Fire Management program will sign commitment letters marking the start of their fire service journey. - ➤ Tennessee Governor Bill Lee declared Contractor Fraud Awareness Week from May 19th to 23rd to help Tennesseans learn how to avoid scam contractors. The Tennessee Department of Commerce — Insurance and the Board for Licensing Contractors advise residents to check licenses, get bids in writing, and report any fraud. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Franklin Police Department’s Dive/Swiftwater Rescue Unit launched the Harpeth River Ready campaign to keep paddlers safe on the Harpeth River with new signs placed at every public access point. The signs feature a QR code linking to a webpage that provides current weather updates, water conditions, a safety video, tips, and launch maps — offering clear guidance for canoe and kayak trips.
