COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Williamson County Fair is accepting nominations for its 2026 Hometown Heroes Recognition — honoring local active military and veterans who have positively impacted the community. Nominees must attend the August 15 award ceremony on the Nissan Stage, and submissions close July 10.  Williamson County Source

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, a fire in the memory care unit at the Somerby residential care facility at 870 Oak Meadow Dr was quickly contained by a sprinkler system so that firefighters could control the blaze and residents sheltered safely while damage was limited to a few rooms.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • On Thursday, June 4, The Ariston will launch its exclusive Purple Toro cigar, created with Sans Pareil, at its Franklin Cigar location (103 International Drive, Cool Springs) and sister venues in the area. The cigar, made with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and aged Dominican tobaccos, offers a refined smoking experience.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Beginning June 25, The Factory at Franklin hosts The Red Wheel songwriter series at the Turner Theater with three celebrated songwriters performing each Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The series celebrates local heritage and offers specialty cocktails and snacks on site.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Graduation ceremonies at Franklin High and Centennial High were held outdoors this weekend even as heavy rain drenched students, families (and staff) during celebrations. Williamson County Schools Superintendent Jason Golden thanked families for their patience and noted the outdoor venue helped include more loved ones in the milestone.  Williamson County Source
