Splash pads are open across Middle Tennessee to help families beat summer heat with free water play areas and interactive fountains in parks.
In Franklin, the splash pad at 1120 Hillsboro Rd is open Monday — Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and others run daily until Labor Day.
Fishing on the Farm returns to The Park at Harlinsdale Farm this week.
Today and tomorrow, children 12 and under can fish in the catch-and-release pond from 8 a.m. to noon with equipment provided; registration (via franklintn.gov/parks or call 615-794-2103) is required for one of four sessions.
🎭 Culture
Purple Evolution, the Prince tribute band known for its high energy performance, will play at The Mockingbird Theater at the Factory in Franklin on Friday, June 26th.
Bar opens at 5 p.m., and the concert starts at 8 p.m.; tickets are $20 in advance & $25 on the day.
🎓 Education
Brentwood Academy announced that Susan Cobb will serve as Middle School Director starting in early July.
The school will host a parent reception that month while Cobb brings over 15 years of education leadership as the third director in its 57-year history.
🏛️ Government
Kevin Davenport, a 9-year veteran of the Franklin Fire Department, has been promoted to lieutenant during a ceremony attended by family and department personnel.
Assistant Fire Chief Jonathan Jenkins announced the change while Fire Chief Glenn Johnson joined remotely (via Microsoft Teams) to congratulate him.
🏥 Health
Routine health inspections in Williamson County revealed scores from June 3 to June 10 for food service and swimming pool facilities.
Assessments included sites in Franklin, Brentwood and Nolensville — ensuring health standards were met.

Flip It Franklin will host an upscale consignment sale from Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21 at Battle Ground Academy at 336 Ernest Rice Lane, featuring designer and contemporary clothing offered at 50% to 80% below retail.
Admission and parking are free, and proceeds support Baden K-9 Kares Foundation.
