  • Eagle Scout candidate Ben Hamby of BSA Natchez Trace District Troop 13 built a lending library at Williamson County Animal Center to extend its Book Buddies program—allowing children to improve their reading skills while socializing with shelter animals. Registration for an animal body language class is available on the center's website—helping families join the program.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Scenthound is expanding in Middle Tennessee & will open three new dog grooming locations this year following a successful launch in Franklin in 2024. The first store will open on Monday, June 23 at 823-B Woodland St. in East Nashville while new sites in Melrose and Brentwood are set to open later.  Williamson County Source
  • The Tennessee County Clerk approved new business licenses for several companies across Williamson County from June 6th to June 13th, 2025. The list includes local firms in Franklin, Brentwood & Spring Hill.  Williamson County Source

  • Franklin Special District announced Dr. Alisha Erickson as principal of the unified Poplar Grove School campus—combining the elementary and middle schools to provide a consistent educational path for students and families.   • On Tuesday, local sports journalists Joe Williams and Charles Pulliam were honored at the 2025 WILLCO Awards at The Factory in Franklin where they received the WCS Sports Conference Sponsor of the Year award.
