Williamson County Fair kicked off on Friday, Aug.
7, at Expo Park with a ribbon cutting with Williamson Inc. despite heavy rains; the fair will run until Aug. 15 with rides, food vendors, and a Little Ones Farming exhibit + celebrating American traditions and local agriculture.

Last weekend, Cobra Kai star Martin Kove was rescued by boat when floodwaters nearly reached his Franklin-area home.
First responders later conducted welfare checks in the Warrior Drive area as heavy rain persisted this evening.
💼 Business
Greys Fine Cheese will close its Franklin shop at The Factory Saturday, Aug.
15 due to rising operating costs and will soon seek a new local space; customers are invited to visit (employees will temporarily work at the Nashville store) while other locations stay open.
Home Sense is set to open in the former Joann spot at Cool Springs Market.
The store will bring a new home goods option to the area — marking Williamson County’s first Home Sense location amid established retailers like Kroger and Nordstrom Rack.
🎓 Education
Williamson County Schools opened its brand-new Innovation Center on August 7.
The 26,000 sqft facility (made possible by an Innovative Schools Model grant) offers classrooms and community spaces on the same campus as the Entrepreneurship Center.
WCS introduced new guidance to change classroom tech habits by using fewer, vetted apps and focused monitoring.
Educators, parents, and board members developed the plan to boost learning, and students now see a purposeful approach to technology in class.

Inspections from Aug.
5 to Aug. 12 in Williamson County found that three restaurants earned scores in the 80s, with Five Guys (86), McDonald’s (87) and Bonefish Grill (89) cited for temperature and sanitation issues. Follow-ups were ordered for McDonald’s and Bonefish Grill.
Health inspectors finished routine checks from Aug.
5 to 12, and food service, pool, and tattoo businesses in Williamson County earned perfect scores of 100; officials said scores show spots in Franklin+Spring Hill meet strict safety standards+ help boost public confidence.
