A small cosmetics refrigerator malfunction caused a fire in a child's bedroom at a Williamson County home just after midnight on August 28—firefighters quickly controlled the flames while the family evacuated safely.

McEwen Northside in Franklin announced Hawkers Asian Street Food will anchor the ground floor of its newest building next to Culinary Dropout as part of a $125 million expansion.

Today the Westhaven Foundation announced the winners of its 2025 Excellence in Education Scholarships awarded with funds raised at last year's Porchfest music festival, naming five Williamson County Schools graduates including Connor Britt, Colin Adams, Baker Bruehl, Shiloh Branson and Jessica Crockett. The awards come as either $5,000 or $2,500 grants and the students will attend colleges such as the University of Tennessee—Knoxville, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, Belmont and Lipscomb as they take the next step in their education.
