WCS will host its 28th Annual Marching Band Exhibition at Fairview High School on Saturday, September 13 at 6:50 p.m. where all nine high school bands from Brentwood, Centennial, Fairview, Franklin, Independence, Nolensville, Page, Ravenwood and Summit will perform their national anthem before giving parts of their competition shows—tickets cost $11.

The annual WCS College and Industry Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Several colleges, universities and businesses will offer career and college resources — the TN Student Assistance Corporation will present financial aid sessions at 5, 5:45 and 6:30.

More than 600 WCS high school students earned national recognition from the College Board for high PSAT and AP scores and meeting a 3.3 GPA requirement—students received awards in School, First-Generation, and Rural and Small Town categories.

WCS started the 2025-26 school year and shared a safety message with families.

The district used a series of PSAs produced in 2023-24 by its Safety and Security Director Michael Fletcher and WSCO detectives to urge families to talk with students about school safety—making community vigilance a priority.

Franklin's city sanitation will launch a glass recycling program Monday, Sept.

8 at the BOPAE site on Century Court — it will collect glass free of contaminants during BOPAE hours and plans to expand drop-off locations soon. The program is managed by Recycle Service LLC and will pay $10 per ton for acceptable recycled glass.

Franklin Police Department will host its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, September 11 at 8 a.m. at the Police Headquarters – Franklin Fire Department will join to honor nearly 3,000 lives lost and pay tribute to survivors and first responders.

The TSSAA honored three Williamson County Schools coaches—Brentwood High’s Chris Saunders for Boys Golf, Ravenwood High’s Ricky Rodriguez for Girls Flag Football and Summit High’s Pete Miller for Wrestling—for leading teams to state titles this school year.

Their awards recognize strong coaching across Williamson County schools.
