COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 25, 2025, community members gathered at Carter Hill Battlefield Park to watch the Sedberry building at 1200 Columbia Ave. get demolished as part of Franklin's Charge effort to restore the land's 1864 appearance — officials announced that a contract for an additional battlefield parcel will be signed and cleanup is expected to take weeks. - ➤ Williamson County Animal Center will raise fees for spay and neuter procedures for indoor cats and owned dogs effective October 27; new rates set $50 for indoor cats and higher fees for dogs based on weight with non-resident prices increased as well, while outdoor cats remain eligible for free procedures. The center, located at 1006 Grigsby Hayes Court in Franklin, is open Monday–Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — its changes come as supply costs rise. - ➤ Williamson County issued new business licenses from September 19th to 26th for a range of companies including a restaurant, hairstylist, and real estate brokerage in Franklin, Brentwood, and Nolensville—information provided by the Tennessee County Clerk. - ➤ A former Burger King building at 2009 Columbia Avenue is being renovated into a Chipotle restaurant while plans for a location at 1711 Galleria Boulevard are underway—Chipotle now operates four outlets in Franklin and is hiring for staff at the new site. Williamson County Source
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ FirstBank Amphitheater announced that the Judas Priest & Alice Cooper show, postponed on September 21 due to bad weather, will now take place on Tuesday, October 7—tickets already purchased remain valid. The venue also noted that this reschedule is part of the remaining five season shows—Seether and Daughtry will wrap up the season on October 24. Williamson County Source
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nineteen School Resource Officers are now certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians after they completed a five-day course — they will provide free car seat safety checks today at Heritage Elementary School from 9 a.m. to noon. Williamson County Source
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Low early vote turnout was reported in Williamson County for the Tennessee Congressional District 7 special primary—only 2,064 ballots have been cast by out of 54,631 registered voters since early voting began on Sept. 17. The primary on Oct. 7 will choose party winners who will face four Independent candidates in a special election scheduled for Dec. 2. Williamson Herald

- ➤ Week 6 of Tennessee high school football ended as teams in Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson, and Wilson counties posted their scores.
