CULTURE NEWS

  • The Pilgrimage Festival at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin drew thousands of music fans and showcased a rich mix of genres with performances by Very Gently — Hippies and Cowboys, Franklin High School percussion, Grace Potter with special guest Britney Spencer, the British duo The Heavy Heavy, and Young the Giant. John Mayer closed the event as headliner and highlighted a local connection with his drummer Aaron Sterling.  Williamson County Source
  • Today, the Haley Gallery at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened Earl Newman: Six Decades of Lyrical Compositions, a free exhibition running through Nov. 14 that features vintage silkscreened posters and new collaborative works with Hatch Show Print. Newman, known for his poster designs at events such as the Monterey Jazz Festival, has printed his work for over 70 years — a long-time creative influence.  Williamson County Source
