  • The Williamson County African American Veterans Foundation announced its first-ever awards to honor local service members by naming Mayor Rogers Anderson, L Col Wanda Bruce Graham, and Mr Calvin LeHew as Veterans of the Year and Tractor Supply Company as Veteran Support Organization of the Year. An awards dinner honoring the winners will be held on Nov. 6 at New Hope Academy in Franklin from 5:30 to 8 p.m. — tickets cost $150 with table sponsorships at $1,500.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • McEwen Northside officially opened its $125 million Block E building in Cool Springs with 300,000 square feet of mixed-use space—featuring retail, dining, offices and a full-service fitness center—after a community celebration on Tuesday, September 30; the project also includes a new parking garage with over 900 free spaces as part of the district's 80% completion.  Williamson County Source
  • The Tennessee County Clerk confirmed that Williamson County issued new business licenses from September 26 to October 3, 2025, approving companies in Franklin, Brentwood and nearby areas. The list includes firms in retail, beauty and construction — reflecting a diverse business landscape — and shows the county’s ongoing support for new ventures.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • The YMCA of Middle Tennessee celebrated 25 years of its After Breast Cancer program at a reunion event with over 100 survivors and supporters, marking a milestone as it kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October — the free 16-week program offers personal training, nutrition, and support groups. The program now enrolls its largest group since the pandemic and is selling limited-edition anniversary t-shirts through Oct. 31.  Williamson County Source

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • North Italia is celebrating fall with the return of its Pumpkin Praline Butter Cake—made with creamy pumpkin seed praline, white chocolate custard, toasted Italian meringue, and white chocolate crumble—now served for dine-in and takeout at its Cool Springs in Franklin and Green Hills locations.   • Week 7 high school football games were played across ten counties including Cannon, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson and Williamson — TSSAA recorded scores such as Cannon Co. 50 over Smith Co. 25 and Brentwood Academy’s 35 win over MUS.  Williamson County Source
