GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Franklin Police Department invites community members to a free active shooter training seminar on Thursday, November 6 at 5 p.m. in the Community Room at 900 Columbia Ave—attendees will learn practical strategies to respond during an active threat, and interested participants must email Donna Thorpe to register while weapons are prohibited.  Williamson County Source
  • On Monday, Oct. 6, Franklin officials hosted a reception with guests from western Germany who exchanged gifts and enjoyed lunch—an event that bolstered international ties.  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • The White Alligator in Franklin received a 77 during a health inspection on October 7th that found eight violations including faulty refrigeration and unsafe food temperatures, with 10 pounds of food embargoed. The restaurant corrected issues on site with employee training but must continue improvements—future inspections will check for lasting compliance.  Williamson County Source
  • The Puzzle Center now offers daily puzzles such as crosswords, sudoku and word searches to help Franklin residents boost their mental sharpness and reduce stress.   • Williamson County health inspections from October 1–8 showed that Bayleaf Indian Restaurant, The White Alligator, Holiday Inn Continental Breakfast, W'lins and Connors Steak and Seafood received the lowest food safety scores—food establishments are required to post their recent reports publicly.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County establishments received perfect 100 health scores during inspections conducted between October 1 and October 8—Department of Health inspectors confirmed that food service locations met required safety standards.  Williamson County Source
