COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County will host the 40th annual Pumpkinfest on Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in historic downtown Franklin where families will enjoy live music, costume contests for pets and people, arts and crafts, and local food vendors (Franklin Transit will offer $1 shuttle rides from The Park at Harlinsdale Farm).  Williamson Herald
  • FrankTown Open Hearts broke ground on Oct. 16 for its new 16,000‑square‑foot facility at Grandbury and Academy Streets in Franklin — the nonprofit plans to combine its programs for at-risk youth under one roof — as it raised $7 million of the $9.25 million needed and prepares for enhanced mentoring and tutoring services.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The Tennessee County Clerk released new business licenses from October 10th to 17th, listing ventures in Franklin, Nolensville, Spring Hill, and Thompsons Station—ranging from interior design and salon services to retail sales.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Franklin Fire Department celebrated the graduation and badge pinning of 11 new firefighters on Oct. 10 at Eastern Flank Event Facility — the cohort included five interns who all received full-time job offers, two new recruits, and four lateral hires from a 500-hour Recruit Firefighter I & II Academy approved by the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting. Fire Chief Glenn Johnson congratulated the graduates and thanked the city Human Resources Department and his Training Division for their support in creating the new Internship Program.  Williamson Herald

  • Pretty In Pink Boutique in Franklin is offering practical support for breast cancer survivors this October by providing personalized fittings and tailored resources to help restore confidence and comfort. The boutique highlighted real stories such as Dianne’s, whose Paris celebration after treatment rebuilt her spirit—demonstrating how real care can help survivors thrive.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson Health launched a new podcast, Health Talks: From the Inside Out, which debuted on October 10 with six episodes hosted by Michele Simpson featuring medical experts. The show covers health topics—such as breast health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month—and will release two new episodes each month on popular streaming platforms.  Williamson County Source
