  • Santa will arrive at CoolSprings Galleria on Saturday, November 9 at 11am at the Lower Level Center Court in front of Dillard’s to celebrate the holiday season and listen to children’s Christmas wishes. Visitors can also enjoy additional Santa events and photo opportunities scheduled through December 24.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Former Vandy star Shan Foster shared his personal story of overcoming abuse and toxic cultural norms at a Porch Talks event at Williamson County Public Library in Franklin on Oct. 27. He reflected on his athletic career and nonprofit work—urging accountability to change a culture of silence about abuse.  Williamson Herald

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Columbia State Community College is accepting spring applications for the semester starting Jan. 20; new and returning students must reapply by Jan. 16 and register by Jan. 23. Campus tours are offered at all five campuses including the Williamson campus in Franklin—advisers are available to help students after acceptance.  Williamson County Source

Policy Talks on Oct 31, Maureen Thornton of Visit Franklin and Commissioner Mark Ezell discussed tourism’s impact on Williamson County, noting that over $1.3 billion was spent by visitors last year— they compared tourism in Nashville and Las Vegas while outlining plans for future expansions in convention centers and entertainment venues.
