COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Historic Downtown Franklin will celebrate Small Business Saturday on November 29 with special deals and free trolley rides every 30 minutes from 10 AM to 6 PM — offering a festive way for shoppers to support local stores. The Downtown Franklin Association organizes the event to boost small businesses and community spirit.  Williamson County Source
  • Families across Middle Tennessee can enjoy many events this Black Friday weekend such as museum exhibits at the Country Music Hall of Fame, holiday light shows at Franktown and the Nashville Zoo, free hikes in state parks, and tours at The Hermitage—offering fun activities that do not involve shopping.  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin native Tyrel Dodson, a Miami Dolphins linebacker, helped support local families when his family delivered 70 boxed BBQ meals on Tuesday, Nov. 25 to FrankTown Open Hearts students and families.   • Dickey's Barbecue Pit is welcoming the holiday season by offering Thanksgiving meal bundles with smoked turkey, ham, and classic sides while easing the kitchen burden for local families. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Battle of Franklin Trust will mark the 161st anniversaries of two Civil War battles by offering after-hour tours at Rippa Villa in Spring Hill on Saturday and at Carter House and Carnton in Franklin on Sunday — tours run from 5 to 7 p.m. with daytime tours available on each day. The event previews a new visitor center set to open in May and reminds residents why local history remains important.  Williamson Herald

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting Tuesday, December 2, the City of Franklin will close Liberty Hills Drive at Liberty Pike—crews will replace a box culvert for the Liberty Hills Stream Restoration Project. Motorists will face rerouted traffic via Liberty Hills Drive to Freedom Drive and North Royal Oaks Boulevard, and the closure is expected to last 12 to 14 weeks.  Williamson County Source

  • Today, Williamson Health’s smallest turkeys shake a tail feather as they prepare for their first Thanksgiving and show off festive crochet outfits by Debi Reynolds from the EMS team — highlighting local creativity and care.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County health inspectors released the lowest food health scores for several food service establishments between November 19 and November 26, including Puckett's Gro.& Restaurant in Franklin and others in Brentwood. The routine and follow-up inspections require that each establishment posts the report in a visible place for public review.  Williamson County Source
