COMMUNITY NEWS

  • GraceWorks Ministries’ 26th Annual Turkey Trot took place on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27 at Meridian Cool Springs. The charity run drew 4,737 participants and raised record funds for programs supporting families in Williamson County and Middle Tennessee.  Williamson County Source
  • Mayor Moore and Mayor Anderson joined leaders for the Light the World Giving Machine ribbon cutting downtown at 231 Public Square today. Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the machine accepts food, water, supplies and tutoring donations from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Dec. 21.  Williamson County Source
  • United Communications supports local schools and nonprofits by sponsoring community events and investing in fiber internet and digital literacy programs. The provider (a local internet partner) is expanding services to improve digital access and strengthen Middle Tennessee neighborhoods.  Williamson County Source
  • Studio Tenn is staging White Christmas at the Turner Theater inside The Factory and will host a month-long food drive in December with OneGenAway to collect non-perishable donations for local families in need.  Williamson Herald
  • The Franklin Noon Rotary Club launched an ongoing food program for East Tennessee, feeding 300 families monthly through One Generation Away’s distributions. The program, stemming from the club’s Franklin Rodeo fundraiser, will continue through 2026 to support residents recovering from Hurricane Helene.  Williamson Herald

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Tennessee have dropped four cents on average since last week (the average is now $2.56, 11 cents lower than a year ago) according to AAA. The decline follows weaker demand and lower crude oil prices, and the trend is expected to continue through the end of the year.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Tennessee Department of Health released its October report that detailed penalties for healthcare professionals in middle Tennessee, including fines for dentists, chiropractors + pharmacies. The report noted continuing education failures and expired licenses with fines up to $25,000.  Williamson County Source

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Franklin Holiday Spirits Festival returns on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Factory (230 Franklin Rd) from 6 PM to 9 PM. This 21+ event offers 12 fun-sized cocktails, festive treats, and holiday entertainment while supporting TennGreen Land Conservancy.  Williamson County Source
