- ➤ Williamson Memorial held its annual candlelight service last week to offer comfort to grieving families during the holiday season. The event featured Christmas music, handmade ornaments, and check presentations to local charities (Williamson County Animal Center, Circle of Giving, and the 4:04 Foundation). Williamson Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Heritage Middle School received a $5000 donation from USG Corporation on November 6 to boost its STEM program. STEM teacher Sarah Fischer said the funds will launch a coding drone team and support additional robotics and rocketry lessons. Williamson County Source
- ➤ WCS Superintendent Jason Golden & district administrators honored the district-wide Teachers and Principal of the Year on Tuesday, Dec. 2 through surprise school visits. Winners include Oak View’s Lindsey Fedoryshyn, Legacy’s Shelby Kuhnle, Nolensville’s Pamela Eve Farrell, and Independence High’s Dr. Niki Patton. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County Schools will use phone+email+text+social media to notify families and staff if winter weather forces a school closure. Notifications will start as early as 5 a.m. on affected days, and school events will be canceled unless conditions improve. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County Schools will show new firearms safety videos developed with the sheriff’s office after winter break to comply with a state law requiring annual age-appropriate instruction starting in the 2025-26 school year. - ➤ County health inspectors reported that several local restaurants, including El Guadalajara (score 896) and Troubadour Speakeasy Kitchen (score 918), received the lowest scores from Dec. 3-10; each food spot is inspected twice a year and current reports are available at county health offices. - ➤ Williamson County businesses earned perfect 100 scores during health inspections conducted from Dec. 3 to Dec. 10, 2025 — including food service establishments and hotels in Franklin and Brentwood.
