  • Franklin's Williamson Herald, which began on Dec. 15, 2005, turned 20 this week as locals recalled its humble launch at Sandy’s. The newspaper was founded by Mindy Tate after residents asked for a dedicated paper covering community news and events.  Williamson Herald

BUSINESS NEWS

  • LL Bean announced its first Tennessee store in Franklin may open spring 2026 at CoolSprings Galleria (replacing the former Forever 21 location). The retailer plans to expand with eight new stores nationwide in the coming years.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ten WCS music educators were named semifinalists for the 2026 CMA Foundation Music Teachers of Excellence awards after nominations were announced on Dec. 10. The 30 final award recipients will be revealed during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4–8.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County Schools announced that under T.C.A. 49-6-3115, some third graders who score below proficiency on the TCAP exam will need to attend four weeks of summer school in June 2026 to move to fourth grade; families are encouraged to check the district website for details.  Williamson County Source
  • Centennial High School’s eSports program ranked No. 5 nationally among more than 600 schools for the Fall 2025 season as USA Today High School Sports released its rankings on Dec. 2. Coach Kate Morris remains eager to see the playoffs conclude + to start a strong Spring 2026 season.  Williamson County Source

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Middle Tennessee food news from December 12-18 shows restaurants offering festive promotions, new menu items, and free wing deals for Titans fans. Whataburger + Buffalo Wild Wings and Chipotle are among the eateries updating their menus ahead of the holiday season.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Predators dropped a 4 to 1 loss to the Hurricanes on Dec. 17 at Bridgestone Arena, with goalie Juuse Saros saving 33 shots + early penalties hampered Nashville as Carolina's balanced attack prevailed in front of 17,159 fans.  Williamson County Source
