COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Local minister Danny Castillo from The Bridge Church in Spring Hill and community members donated 299 care packages to inmates at Williamson County Detention Center this week (each bag contained socks, chips, a Rice Krispies treat, and a devotional) to remind those incarcerated they are valued.  Williamson County Source
  • Families in Franklin can join Ruby Slipper’s kids pancake brunch on Monday, Dec. 22, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all locations, where children get a free pancake entrée with cream cheese icing + colorful sprinkles and a picture frame craft kit available while supplies last.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • SOS Counter will open at 701 Carothers Parkway in Franklin early 2026. The business started as a Facebook page called Sourdoughs of Somerset and will offer sourdough bread and kitchen to table meal kits.  Williamson County Source
  • airLINE by Gray Line Tennessee held its ribbon cutting at 700 Cool Springs Blvd. in Franklin on Dec. 17, marking the launch of its new ground transportation service & backed by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development to ease airport travel for locals and visitors.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County released new business licenses from Dec. 12 to 19, with local additions including a massage therapy firm on 3rd Ave N, a hair salon on Nolensville Rd, and a landscaping company on Murfreesboro Rd. Additional licenses cover construction & more.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williamson County Schools teamed with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations as HSI Special Agent Dennis Fetting visited Spring Station Middle School on Nov. 13 to educate families on online safety risks + the session detailed tactics used by predators, sextortion, and digital privacy issues.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Franklin Special District school board approved demolition of a 67,000 sqft former school building at 1406 Cannon St on Monday, Dec. 15, noting its deterioration and impact on property sale + demolition will begin in January and take 15 weeks at over $889,000.  Williamson Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Titans (2-12) will host the Chiefs (6-8) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 12 p.m. CST in a game to be broadcast regionally on CBS and local radio. The teams will face off for the first time at home since Oct. 2021.  Williamson County Source
