About this event

Several of you have asked for more outdoor activities so here we go! Join us for a stroll on the Shelby Bottoms Greenway !

WALK: We will meet at the Nature Center parking lot. The path will take us from the Nature Center to Sevier Lake community center.

GREENWAYS CHALLENGE: Greenways for Nashville has a challenge for 2026, to visit all of the greenway segments throughout the year. I'll attempt to plan events that visit the rest of them! Register for free here: https://greenwaysfornashville.org/2026greenwayschallenge/

ABOUT from the web: The Shelby Bottoms Greenway extends from the heart of Shelby Park, past the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, and throughout Shelby Bottoms – a 950-acre floodplain preserve along the Cumberland River. The Shelby Bottoms Greenway features relatively flat and meandering, multi-use greenway pathway, river overlooks, and an internal observation platform for studying the local ecosystem. The greenway also leads to the parks’ unpaved nature trails, the Cornelia Fort Air Park, and the tremendous Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge that joins to the Stones River Greenway. Shelby Bottoms Greenway includes Fortland Drive, Shadow Lane, and Cooper Creek greenway connectors.
