About this event
Join us for a lively conversation with LJ Rader, creator of the wildly popular Art But Make It Sports social media accounts, and Andrew Maraniss, New York Times–bestselling author and Vanderbilt Athletics special projects coordinator.
On Art But Make It Sports, Rader—a Vanderbilt alum, sports media professional, and lifelong art enthusiast—pairs iconic sports moments with historic works of art in surprising, humorous, and often uncanny ways. What began as a personal project has grown into a global phenomenon and inspired his book, Art But Make It Sports: Epic Matchups Where Art and Sports Collide.
Together, Rader and Maraniss will explore the unexpected connections between art and athletics, Rader’s creative process, and the story behind the phenomenon that has brought millions of sports fans and art lovers together.
The conversation will be followed by a book signing with LJ Rader.
Presented in partnership with the Vanderbilt Sports & Society Initiative.
Tickets go on sale to members on October 15 and to not-yet members on October 16.
