About this event

Led by Rev. Neelley Hicks

The holiday season is often described as a joyful time, but for many people it can also bring grief, loneliness, family stress, difficult memories, and emotional pain. Healing through the Holidays is a trauma-informed gathering designed to help participants move through the holiday season with greater awareness, compassion, and hope. Drawing on lessons and practices from Triumph Over Trauma, we will create a safe and welcoming space to acknowledge the realities of our pain while exploring practical ways to care for ourselves and one another.

During this four-hour Saturday gathering, participants will explore common holiday triggers, mindfulness and grounding practices, and ways to recognize and respond to emotional stress. We will also consider how we can create new traditions and ways of celebrating Christ that honor where we are in our lives rather than requiring us to ignore or minimize our pain. The goal is not to “fix” grief or difficult emotions, but to

develop tools that help us move through the holidays with greater peace, resilience, and connection.
