About this event

Colleen Orender returns to Rudy's Jazz Room with Blue Holiday - an intimate evening of soulful originals, bluesy favorites, and moody holiday songs for the romantics, those missing someone, and anyone who gets a little sentimental this time of year. For those who find a little beauty in the blue side of the holidays, this one's for you. A seasoned touring jazz and blues artist, Colleen Orender brings the smoky atmosphere of a 1930s Mississippi juke joint to the stage. Working with Nashville producer Michael Davey (Martina McBride, Angie Aparo), she has developed a distinctive sound that blends the soulful grit of Amy Winehouse with the sultry elegance of Julie London. Her original music, including "The Mouth You Feed," "Company of Older Men," and "Love Me Harder," has garnered attention from NPR, Apple Music, and AAA radio stations, including Nashville's WMOT Roots Radio. Orender has also recorded performances for NPR Sessions in a historic cotton mill in Tupelo, Mississippi. "Nashville recording artist Colleen Orender's new music is a sultry jazz dream with pop sensibilities and a touch of James Bond." - NPR
