  • Zaxby's will offer its Southern Fried Shrimp + Giant Quesadillas on Jan. 19 for a limited time at its local locations. Guests can order these fan favorites in-restaurant, via drive-thru, or online.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream debuts its Bridgerton-themed Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake flavor today at scoop shops + online; Earl Grey Crème Brûlée will launch in February while community members are invited to submit local photos for the daily feature.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • WCS Student Support Services is hosting a three-part virtual Parent Academy series for families of students with disabilities via Zoom from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 (discussing IDEA safeguards), Feb. 24 (planning for postsecondary success), and Mar. 17 (supporting behavior).  Williamson County Source
  • Fairview High’s TV/Film program received national recognition when five students won first place at the 2025 STN Challenge Competition for Mixed Signals. It is the program’s second national honor after Mason Hickman’s win for Werewolf Springs, with winners set to receive plaques.  Williamson County Source
  • The Entrepreneurship Center is accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year for rising tenth through twelfth-grade students (at WCS). Interested students can apply through the ClassLink Dashboard (applications due by Feb. 13) and attend an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Williamson County Source
  • WCS's Class of 2025 achieved 79% with 21+ on the ACT exam and an average score of 25.3, surpassing the 19.3 state average and unlocking Tennessee HOPE Scholarship opportunities while 55% met all college-readiness benchmarks.  Williamson County Source
  • Fairview High School Band hosts Songwriter’s Night on Jan. 17 at Franklin Special District Performing Arts Center (1030 Excellence Way). Headliner Ty Herndon will perform with Jim Collins, Lauren Mascitti and others, while tickets range from $30 to $75 VIP with a silent auction to support the band.  Williamson County Source
  • Two Williamson County high school bands kicked off 2026 with performances at landmark events. The Franklin band participated in Pasadena’s 137th Rose Parade while Ravenwood’s band played at Walt Disney World, with both directors praising the students’ preparation & community support.  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Franklin Fire Department will host a free, non-certification CPR class on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Franklin Police Headquarters (900 Columbia Ave) where firefighters will teach CPR, AED use, and choking relief to residents aged 12 and older.  Williamson County Source
  • The health department inspected local food service establishments in Williamson County from Jan. 7+Jan. 14 and awarded perfect scores of 100. Results are posted at each location as required to keep dining safe and transparent.  Williamson County Source
  • Food service spots in Williamson County got their lowest health scores during Jan. 7 — 14 inspections; Cadence Academy Kitchen, Aubrey's and others received lower ratings. The Department of Health said establishments must now post their latest inspection reports for public review.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • Centennial High will host a winter baseball skills camp on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 5050 Mallory Lane, where MLB player Tony Kemp and the school team will coach K-8 students; the camp costs $75 per camper + sibling discounts and registration is online.  Williamson County Source
