  • The longstanding breakfast and brunch spot J. Christopher’s, located at 620 Frazier Drive in Cool Springs, has permanently closed today; the venue was known for its popular omelets and pancakes since the mid-2000s.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • VFW Post 4893 will host a free Music Showcase to honor veterans at 101 Eddy Lane on Saturday, Feb. 21. Doors open at 3:00 p.m.—the event includes live performances and a $10 burger and chips deal from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Williamson County Source
  • Local storyteller Sally Jones Lloyd will release her new book Jesus: Our True Friend at Franklin Theatre on April 24 at 7 p.m. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Jon Guerra will join her in a family-friendly event with book signings and ticket options + VIP experiences.  Williamson County Source
  • Three New Yorkers competed for a $10K prize at Whispering Willows Farm and Dairy in Thompson’s Station via the Cashtranaut series. Lifestyle content creator Courtney Moore won the contest plus the show donated an extra $5K to the host farm.  Williamson County Source
  • GRAMMY Award-winning artist Baby Keem will perform at Marathon Music Works on April 18 during his 36-date Ca$ino Tour, which begins in Raleigh on April 15 and travels to major cities. His second album, Ca$ino, is set to be released tomorrow (Feb. 20).  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin Pride Festival returns to Harlinsdale Farm on June 6 from noon until 6 pm at 239 Franklin Road. The event permit was approved on Feb. 10 and organizers expect 10,000 visitors to enjoy live music, food trucks and craft vendors.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williamson County Schools recognized its January bus drivers on Feb. 11 when honorees Joel Lowry + David Olmstead + Fred Nims + Dawn Moses + Jennifer Victory + Eva Pewitt received free breakfast, a gift card, and a certificate from Sonic Drive-In for safely getting students to school.  Williamson County Source
  • WCS said it does not coordinate or condone student walkouts and is enforcing attendance rules to keep classes on track (officials are meeting with organizers and families to address concerns).  Williamson County Source
  • Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2026 are scheduled May 21-24 across local schools with each school setting its own time and location. Details include Franklin High on May 21 at 7 p.m. on the Football Field (rain dates will be announced if needed).  Williamson County Source
  • Eleven WCS elementary schools will host week-long summer ENCORE camps for kindergarten through fifth-grade students, scheduled on various weeks in July. Registration fees are $185 per camper and sign-up details are available from each host school (check with your school).  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Nashville Electric Service has announced enhancements to its Critical Referral Program for customers who depend on electrically powered medical devices, giving them priority during outages. Residents can register online or call for onboarding while the utility expands flexible billing and crisis response efforts after Winter Storm Fern (a measure to better support vulnerable customers).  Williamson County Source

  • Vita Nova Stem Cell Professionals will celebrate the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art facility on Thursday, Feb. 26 with guided tours, complimentary food, and exclusive swag. A ribbon cutting (11:30 a.m.) in Franklin will officially mark the celebration.  Williamson County Source
