New business licenses were issued in Williamson County from March 2-9, 2026, covering ventures including construction, retail, and home services as reported by the Tennessee County Clerk, with licenses for operations in Franklin and nearby towns.
🎭 Culture
At Franklin Theatre today, songwriters performed as part of Tennessee Songwriters Week, and finalist Andrew Worley impressed judges, the audience and fellow songwriters to earn one of seven finale spots (announced by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development).
Four honorees, including Franklin-based Douglas E.
Kreulen, were selected to join the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame class honoring contributions in aviation + public service. The Enshrinement Gala will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites Conference Center.
🏛️ Government
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office recognized detention employee Suzanne Knoble as Employee of the Month for February — officials said her professionalism and positive attitude help keep the detention center safe and efficient.
TDOT will close lanes on I‑840 from near Lewisburg Pike to the Harpeth School Road bridge in Thompson’s Station today until at least Sunday, March 22 for milling and paving work.
Work includes nighttime closures for milling on weekdays and daytime closures on weekends and Monday, March 16 for paving.
Franklin Police Department is accepting applications for the 2026 Citizens’ Police Academy, a six-week program that shows residents a behind-the-scenes look at policing and starts Tuesday, Apr.
7 with sessions from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the police station.

Williamson Health and Bone and Joint Institute are partnering (with Blood Assurance) to host a blood drive on Tuesday, Mar.
17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bone and Joint Institute parking lot at 3000 Edward Curd Lane in Franklin; donations will help meet needs during spring weather.
