- ➤ United Communications said its fiber broadband network now reaches 100,000 locations, making it the largest provider in Middle Tennessee. The company said it will double its reach to 200,000 connections over the next two years — a plan that follows its November 2024 launch of an 8 Gig fiber internet service. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Beijing HotPot opened its authentic Chinese hot pot restaurant at 2000 Mallory Ln #310 in Franklin. The eatery offers an interactive dining experience with fresh ingredients and house-made dipping sauces — it is open Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM — inviting local families, friends, and couples to try a new way to enjoy a traditional meal. - ➤ TriStar Tax and Business Solutions warns local taxpayers and business owners not to rush filings—missing key deductions, misclassifying workers, or inputting errors can trigger IRS penalties. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center earned TCI Tier One certification for 2025 and showed it met all the required standards for safe and effective operations. - ➤ Starting May 7, driver licenses that are not REAL ID compliant will not be accepted for air travel or access to federal facilities — officials urge residents who plan to travel to apply early since mailing new IDs may take up to 20 business days.
