  • The Downtown Franklin Association announced its first springtime Locals Night Out planned for Thursday, March 20th, from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Franklin, where select businesses offer exclusive deals — Williamson County residents must show proof of residency to access special promotions and a chance to win $100 gift cards.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Early’s Honey Stand announced its acquisition of the Tennessee Peanut Company from Jay Cleveland and family—this deal strengthens its line of local Southern goods and expands product offerings in Williamson County.  Williamson County Source

CRIME NEWS

  • A routine traffic stop in Mt. Juliet on March 17th led officers to discover two stolen handguns, several stolen IDs and credit cards, and illegal drugs—resulting in the arrests of a 19-year-old Franklin man and a 19-year-old Fairview woman on theft and drug possession charges while linking multiple theft cases across the Midstate.  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin police arrested two New York men suspected of stealing thousands in merchandise from several stores at Cool Springs Galleria on March 13—officers found over $3,000 in stolen goods from Opry Mills Mall during a vehicle search, and both are held at Williamson County Jail on a $10,000 bond.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Tennessee Historical Commission announced that groundbreaking for the new Herbert Harper Visitor Center will take place on March 28 at 11:00 a.m. CDT—at Carter House State Historic Site in Franklin. The $6.5 million project will replace the old visitors’ center with a modern facility designed to better interpret the site’s history.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Titans signed veteran quarterback Brandon Allen, a 32-year-old who has played for the Broncos — Bengals — and 49ers. He will join the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.  Williamson County Source
