COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Southall Farm & Inn in Franklin will host a Spring Celebration Dinner on April 19th and an Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt on April 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm—events that offer festive family dining with chef Richard’s curated spring menu and traditional activities. Guests are encouraged to join in the Easter celebrations and enjoy farm-fresh dishes in a welcoming setting.  Williamson County Source
  • Curio Brewing Company in Franklin will host its Annual Egg Hunt on April 19th from 10 am—2 pm. The event will feature a bounce house for kids and an egg hunt that begins promptly at noon while Gingerpig offers a special menu for the day.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Nicole Kidman thriller Holland — formerly titled Holland, Michigan — will be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 27th. Large portions of the film were shot in Middle Tennessee in cities including Spring Hill, Nashville, and Hermitage.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Franklin High senior Shayla Carrera won first place in the state bookmark contest with her design based on the theme Reading is Magical at Your School Library. The winning design will be sent to the Tennessee State Legislature and to school libraries at the fall conference.  Williamson County Source
  • On March 5, WCS students competed at the EIC Pitch Night to win startup funding from local business leaders. Ravenwood High’s Abby Goddard won $4,500 for Spikey, which makes keychains with test strips to detect common date-rape drugs, while Brentwood High’s Sloan Conway earned $1,500 and Page High’s Amit Reshef tied with Ravenwood High’s Clayton Blanton for third, earning $1,200 each — the contest showcased local entrepreneurial talent — and more teams ranked in the top six.  Williamson County Source
  • On March 17, the Williamson County Board of Education approved the 2025-2026 school year budgets that include $565,306,797 for the General Purpose School Fund, $20,827,302 for the Central Cafeteria Fund, $8,077,174 for the Extended School Fund, and $14,135,800 for the Capital Outlay Request Fund — the budgets will be sent to Williamson County Commission committees for review before full approval in June.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two high school football coaches associated with WCS were honored by the Tennessee Football Coaches Association—Coach Will Hester from Ravenwood was named 2024 6A Head Coach of the Year after a 13 to 1 season and Coach Sean Temple from Page received 2024 5A Assistant Coach of the Year after guiding his team to an undefeated regular season and a state championship game appearance.  Williamson County Source
