COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Williamson County Fair has set (As American as Apple Pie) as its theme for the 22nd annual event to honor 250 years of American tradition; the fair will run from August 7-15 and offer family-friendly rides, vendors, and attractions. Williamson County Source
- ➤ At a March 22 conference in Franklin, church leaders split the historic Franklin Stake and formed the new Columbia Stake led by Maury County native Ronald Pennington and his counselors. The stake will serve about 2,600 members through six congregations. Williamson County Source
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ After hosting its 2025 Year in Review at the Franklin Theatre on Monday, March 30, Heritage Foundation of Williamson County outlined its preservation projects & shared 367,000 festival attendees. The group will introduce youth programs at the theater this July and host field trips for 1,400 students through July. Williamson Herald
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fairview Elementary School earned the 2024-25 Award of Excellence for Volunteerism and Service-Learning from Volunteer Tennessee on March 20 in Franklin. The school celebrated the honor with a commemorative banner and will continue its volunteer projects with local partners. Williamson Herald
- ➤ Page High School is preparing Amélie: Teen Edition for performance at 6281 Arno Road in Franklin today at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $16.26 and can be reserved online. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Woodland Middle student Marian Jenkins will represent WCS and Tennessee at the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C. during May 26-28 after placing second in the Titans Regional Spelling Bee on March 21 — a milestone for her school community. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Three WCS high school students earned a perfect ACT composite score in February. William Perez and Achilleas Kostoulas at Brentwood High and Connor Parton at Franklin High each achieved a score of 36. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County Schools will open the TCAP spring testing window on Apr. 13 and close it on May 6. Tests will be administered by grade level for subjects including math, ELA, science, and social studies — extra time of up to 20% is available for students who need it. Williamson County Source
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ TriStar Health operates 10 hospitals and eight freestanding emergency rooms in Middle Tennessee, with two more under construction to improve local emergency care. Some hospitals serve as trauma centers for severe injuries, and their staff stands ready around the clock to treat emergencies. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County released updated health scores for local food, hotel, and school inspections conducted from March 25 to April 1. The routine and follow-up checks keep the community informed about local health standards. Williamson County Source
