COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County has announced that the 41st Annual Main Street Festival will be held in historic downtown Franklin on April 26—27—expected to draw over 120,000 visitors who will enjoy arts, crafts, food, and live entertainment.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 13th Annual We Love Christian Music Awards is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 in Franklin and will feature new presenters Kathie Lee Gifford and Danica McKellar alongside host Jaci Velasquez. The event will include performances and award presentations in 22 categories after over 28,000 fan votes—ensuring an evening of faith-driven music and inspiration.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williamson County FFA students showcased their skills at the 97th Tennessee State FFA Convention held from March 23rd to 26th. Both Page Middle and Page High earned state honors + Page Middle claimed a Membership Increase Award and state championships in Agronomy and FFA Quiz while Page High received a National 3-Star Chapter designation and individual awards in Production Proficiency and State FFA Degrees.  Williamson County Source
  • Page High will host summer camps in May, June and July for aspiring youth athletes—camps include flag football, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, cheerleading and more with dates and grade levels set for each sport. Those interested will need to contact Athletic Director Benji Gray for camp costs and further details.  Williamson County Source
  • Heritage Elementary won the WCS Elementary Battle of the Books on March 18—narrowly defeating Thompson’s Station Elementary in a bracket-style contest where eight schools answered questions about five books. HES librarian Christy Schwab said her students are excited to read more by the featured authors.  Williamson County Source
  • A Ravenwood High senior, Oluwaseyi Amosun, was one of two Tennessee students selected for the US Senate Youth Program and traveled to Washington D.C. in early March for a week-long study of the federal government. She received a $10,000 college scholarship (as part of the program) and plans to double major in government and philosophy before attending law school with a focus on constitutional law.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Franklin is launching a quality of life survey using Polco’s National Community Survey to gather resident feedback and benchmark opinions against other communities—selected residents will first receive the survey online in English and Spanish with all residents able to participate later.  Williamson County Source
  • At a March 25th meeting, city leaders unanimously approved the rezoning of over 86 acres from regional commerce to planned development for the CoolSprings Galleria redevelopment project, paving the way for 1,659,584 square feet of nonresidential space, 120 hotel rooms, and 600 multi-family units. The board also approved a resolution that revises the development plan to add 84,555 square feet of new restaurant and retail space.  Williamson County Source
