- ➤ Franklin, together with Franklin Tomorrow, is named one of 20 finalists for the 2026 All-America City Award. A delegation will travel to Denver from June 26—28 to present its work, marking the second time the city earned this honor after winning in 2020. Williamson Herald

- ➤ Independence High School was locked down Wednesday after a threatening phone call prompted a swatting investigation; law enforcement later allowed student pick-up and confirmed there was no valid threat, though a middle school track meet was canceled. Williamson Herald
