  • Franklin Rodeo will celebrate its 75th anniversary on May 14-16 at Williamson County Ag Expo Park with nightly shows starting at 7 p.m., ticket prices ranging from $18 to $52 and proceeds benefiting local charities through the Franklin Noon Rotary Club.  Williamson Herald
  • HOAs and municipal planners in Franklin can consult with Happy Backyards to design a durable dog park that caters to both dogs and their owners. The consultation offers expert guidance on layout, safety, drainage + maintenance to create a valued community space.  Williamson County Source
  • Ravenwood High students surprised 6-year-old Blayne, who has a life-changing disorder, with a trip to Disney World after raising over $25,000 for Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee — the celebration featured students in Disney costumes with games, gifts, and cupcakes.  Williamson County Source

  • After 20 years, McAlister’s Deli closed at Brentwood Place Shopping Center (330 Franklin Road), ending its run as a local eatery known for hand-crafted sandwiches, fresh salads, and Famous Sweet Tea. Other McAlister’s locations remain open for customers.  Williamson County Source

CRIME NEWS

  • Independence High School entered a shelter-in-place on Wednesday, April 8 after a prank call swatting a student prompted on-campus law enforcement — officials confirmed there was no valid threat and all activities resumed except for a cancelled track meet.  Williamson Herald

  • Battle Ground Academy’s Upper School Drama Department will present All Shook Up: School Edition on Apr. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. and Apr. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Sondra Morris & Robert N. Moore, Jr. ‘52 Center on the Glen Echo Campus, offering a musical featuring Elvis hits.  Williamson County Source
  • Local 9-year-old cancer survivor Elliot Hendrix, son of McCreary’s Pub owner Natasha Hendrix, reached the quarterfinals in a national art contest inspired by Bob Ross. Voting ended April 9, and his family said the contest celebrates his seven-year cancer-free milestone.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Williamson County high schools competed at the Scott Hartman Invitational (April 1–2) at Brentwood High. Brentwood High won both team championships (boys and girls), with Ravenwood and Page placing in strong positions.  Williamson County Source
  • Families applying for out-of-zone schooling for the 2026-27 year must submit their online application by April 15. Williamson County residents who provide their own transportation and meet the criteria will enter a lottery (with notifications sent in the afternoon of April 16).  Williamson County Source
  • Students from three Williamson County schools earned top honors at the FFA State Convention. Page High student Karoline McKenzie became State Champion in Agriscience while teams from Page High, Page Middle, and Fairview High received state recognition (runner-up and Superior Chapter awards) at the event.  Williamson County Source

  • Franklin Fire Department held its annual Awards & Badge Pinning Ceremony on March 26 at Rolling Hills Community Church to honor dedicated service and lifesaving actions; highlights included a father-and-son team named Personnel of the Year.  Williamson Herald
