COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Franklin Fire Department Lieutenant Charlene Forehand retires after 32 years in fire service, including nearly 28 with the department. A celebration will be held on Thursday, Apr. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Fire Station 8 (200 Front Street in Westhaven).  Williamson County Source
  • The YMCA of Middle Tennessee joins a national campaign (Five Days of Action®) running Apr. 13 to 17 to teach parents and caregivers digital safety for children. The group will provide resources so local families can better protect kids online.  Williamson County Source
  • Little Diggers, a construction-themed playspace for kids 7 and under, will open soon near Hobby Lobby at 1113 Murfreesboro Road. The 1,200 sqft facility features soft sand plus construction toys and is expected to debut in September.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Williamson County’s new business licenses for April 6 to 13 were released by the Tennessee County Clerk (listing entries such as an automotive service, a restaurant, and a tech firm). Several licenses highlight new enterprises in Franklin, Fairview and nearby areas.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Studio Tenn, Franklin’s nonprofit theatre company, will present Jesus Christ Superstar (starring Tony and Grammy nominees Adam Pascal, Mykal Kilgore, and Olivia Valli) from May 7 to May 31 at Turner Theater inside The Factory.  Williamson County Source
  • The Williamson County Performing Arts Center and Parks and Recreation are accepting audition submissions for One Hit Wonderful! — a musical revue from the 1960s and 1970s. Auditions are on May 11 and 12 at Academy Park, with performances on August 1, 2, 8 and 9.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Franklin Theatre will host its fourth Summer Sessions from July 13–15 in downtown Franklin with award-winning songwriter Trey Bruce leading a workshop on songwriting, vocal performance, and music business for 9th-12th graders. Registration opens April 3 at $150 and rises to $200 (includes lunch, t-shirt, and theatre tickets).  Williamson County Source

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson Health and Blood Assurance will host the Heroes for Life blood drive on Apr. 21 from 8 a.m. to noon at Williamson Medical Center (Willoughby Conference Room near the flagpole) to honor healthcare workers. Donors from Apr. 16 to 30 will receive a T-shirt and recognition pins.  Williamson Herald

  • Crumbl’s new dessert menu is available April 13—18 and features treats like Confetti Cake Batter Cheesecake and Cookies & Cream Milkshake Cookie. Locals can enjoy these limited-time flavors at nearby Crumbl locations.  Williamson County Source
