CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The inaugural Juice Box Jam took place on April 6 at SkyDeck on Broadway and drew more than 1,000 people to a family-friendly live music event. The event was a collaboration between Family Alliance in Music (FAM) and Whiskey Jam and featured high-energy sets by artists such as Mickey Guyton and Charlie Worsham. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Rock legends Alice Cooper and Judas Priest will share the stage on a 22-city tour that stops in Franklin at FirstBank Amphitheater on September 21st—Artist Presales tickets will be available today at 10 a.m.—with general sales opening on April 18th. Williamson County Source
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Franklin Police Department is hosting free CarFit events to help older drivers adjust their vehicles for safe driving. The interactive 20-minute checkup will be held today at Somerby Franklin—870 Oak Meadow Dr.—from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and again on May 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Williamson County Source
- ➤ The IRS announced tax relief for Tennessee individuals and businesses impacted by severe storms, winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began April 2, giving affected taxpayers until November 3 to file returns and make payments while automatically extending relief to those with disaster area addresses—taxpayers may also have extra time to claim disaster-related losses. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Williamson County health inspectors reported that Bayleaf Indian Restaurant and Chill Spot received the lowest food health scores from inspections conducted April 8—15 and these scores were posted for public review. All food establishments are inspected twice a year to check for food safety concerns. Williamson County Source
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ernesto Martinez Jr. was named International League Player of the Week for April 8-13 after he hit .529 with two home runs and eight RBI in five games. The Nashville Sounds Foundation will donate $200 to a charity of his choosing—recognizing his strong performance across key stats. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Former NFL tight end Don Hasselbeck died on April 15 after suffering a cardiac arrest—his son confirmed the news on Twitter and noted he coached football at Ensworth High School and displayed his art at Franklin Art Scene in 2019.
