- ➤ On Saturday, April 5, about 50 volunteers including NAWIC members—along with Girl Scouts, TC2 pre-apprenticeship graduates, and a Turner Construction employee resource group—gathered at Lowes in Cool Springs to build beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace Nashville. The effort provided hands-on support for a local cause and showcased community teamwork. Williamson County Source
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Many major retail chains — including Costco, Target, Sam's Club, Best Buy and Publix — will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20, so Franklin shoppers should plan to complete their purchases before the holiday. Some local malls, like CoolSprings Galleria, The Mall at Green Hills, The Avenue and Tanger Outlets Nashville, may have select open stores with limited hours. Williamson County Source
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Franklin Police Department released an affidavit that at Cool Springs Galleria Mall (2:15 p.m. on April 11) an undercover officer recorded Angelia Lee Solomon (55) offering future payment and her vehicle’s registration as collateral to hire a hitman to have her ex-husband, Aaron Solomon, disappear and be buried underground for access to a trust fund for their daughter; she was arrested on solicitation to commit first-degree murder and booked on a $500,000 bond. - ➤ High school media students were honored for their video work at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Nashville/Midsouth Student Production Awards — winners from Brentwood High, Franklin High, Fairview High, Independence High, and Page High will now compete for national honors later this year. - ➤ Centennial High invites rising first through eighth graders to attend its Youth Basketball Summer Camp June 2—4, where players will train daily from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The camp will charge $100 per camper and offer sibling discounts at 5050 Mallory Lane in Franklin. - ➤ Yesterday, the Tennessee Department of Health confirmed two additional measles cases in middle Tennessee — both individuals are recovering at home after exposure — which raises the state's total to six confirmed cases with no signs of ongoing spread. Williamson County Source
