ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A tractor-trailer overturned on Arno-Allison Road near the Bethesda-Arno intersection this afternoon—emergency crews worked to clear debris while authorities advised drivers to use alternate routes.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local nonprofit coffee shop The Well Coffeehouse opened its first Franklin location at 711 Cool Springs Boulevard and will host its grand opening on May 15th while operating Monday through Friday from 6 am to 5 pm and on weekends from 7 am to 5 pm. The shop supports well-building projects with partners like Living Water Project + Blood:Water Mission.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local teen Mattie Pruitt advanced to American Idol’s top 14 on Monday after performing “By the Stars” by Benson Boone while playing piano for the first time—she said she felt amazing despite being nervous. The show will return on Sunday, April 27—featuring mentor James Taylor and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame songs with viewers voting for the top ten contestants.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Franklin Police Department announced Monday that it is hiring new officers and raising starting salaries to $65,000 for entry-level and $68,000 for lateral officers with POST certification. Officers will work four days each week and receive benefits such as vehicles for use at home, tuition reimbursement, and excellent health and retirement benefits—offering opportunities for further training and advancement.  Williamson County Source
  • TDOT is running a statewide campaign during National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 21-25) to remind drivers to slow down and move over for highway workers—drivers are also encouraged to wear orange today in support of safety. Last year, 16 people died in work zone crashes and 35 incidents involving TDOT equipment have been reported this year—officials say these reminders are meant to prevent further tragedies.  Williamson County Source

  • Williamson County health inspectors released a report of April 15-22 inspections showing that Cafe India—at 93101 International Dr., STE-106 in Franklin—and Bayleaf Indian Restaurant in Spring Hill received the lowest food health scores in the county.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County inspectors posted health scores from inspections conducted from April 15 to April 22 at food service, hotel, and pool locations. Residents can view the reports at local health departments—ensuring easy access to recent results.  Williamson County Source
