  • Franklin firefighters rescued Ralphie the cat that fell into a 30-foot dry well at the Franklin Grove Estate + Gardens using specialized equipment, and Firefighter-Paramedic Daniel White safely lifted the cat to reunite it with its family.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Miranda Lambert will release new music with Nashville based MCA, marking a new chapter in her decorated career + expanding her global storytelling. Today's Photo of the Day also invites local residents to share original images from Williamson County.  Williamson County Source
  • The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County will host the Main Street Festival in historic downtown Franklin on April 25-26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring live music, arts & crafts, food vendors, KidsZone, and PetZone while Franklin Transit offers $1 shuttle rides until 5:45 p.m.  Williamson County Source
  • Fox & Locke, a local music venue, has dedicated a restroom to Muscle Shoals Music inspired by Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, First Lady Maria Lee announced the 8th Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge to encourage kindergarten through sixth graders to serve two hours between June 1 and August 1 — top participants will join a carnival with the Governor and First Lady at the Tennessee Residence in September.  Williamson County Source
  • The Williamson County Board of Education approved the 2025-26 budget on April 20; the budget allocates $659K for buses, $5.5M for repairs, $15.9M for security tech and $2.88M for LED field lights while proposing a 4% pay raise. The measure now moves to the commission on May 11.  Williamson Herald

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Williamson County residents and neighbors can safely drop off household hazardous waste on Saturday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Complex parking lot; Franklin officials will collect batteries, oil, and oil-based paint + electronics at 417 Century Court during the same hours.  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson County food service establishments earned perfect 100 health scores from inspections conducted April 15–22. Health department inspectors visit twice a year (inspection reports are publicly displayed) to ensure local safety.  Williamson County Source
  • Williamson County released its inspection scores for food service, childcare, pool and hotel establishments from April 15 to 22. Scores from locations in Franklin and Brentwood give residents insight on local health standards.  Williamson County Source
