COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Berry Farms will launch its new weekly Farm Stand this Friday, May 16 at Town Center Park on 6001 Hughes Crossing, where seasonal locally sourced vegetables, fruits, meats and more will be sold each Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. through mid-October. Local farmers including 1822 Farms, Forest Spore, Hidden Willow Farm and Pig & Leaf will offer additional items + fun events like goat yoga, live music and line dancing will be featured.  Williamson County Source

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Williamson County business licenses for April 18–25 were issued for several new companies in Franklin and nearby communities + the new firms offer services including lawn care, consulting, dance instruction, office work, engraving, hair care, food distribution, welding, holistic management and food prep.  Williamson County Source

CULTURE NEWS

  • Battle Ground Academy’s Upper School Theatre Department presents Guys and Dolls as its spring musical at the Sondra Morris and Robert N. Moore Jr. '52 Center for Arts and Entrepreneurship. The show played on April 25, features a performance today at 7 p.m. and will have another performance on April 27 at 2 p.m. with free tickets available by advance reservation.  Williamson County Source
  • Downtown Franklin’s Main Street Festival runs today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — the event features over 100 artisan vendors selling handmade goods.  Williamson County Source
  • Franklin’s Main Street Festival is happening today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring live music and dance by local groups on the Main and Acoustic Stages — the event will continue on April 27 with more performances.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, the Franklin Band hosts its annual Car Wash Extravaganza where residents can get a car wash for $15 to support Franklin High students. The fundraiser runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Franklin High on 810 Hillsboro Road—concessions are available.  Williamson County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lieutenant Richard Hasley, who has served in fire service for 36 years including 25 with the Franklin Fire Department, will retire next week. His final shift and retirement celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at Franklin Fire Station 2, 907 Murfreesboro Road, where the public is invited to join in honoring his service.  Williamson County Source

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Titans selected Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday night — team officials spent weeks traveling to watch top prospects — and he officially joins the squad. Ward threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns last season and is expected to compete for a starting role.  Williamson County Source
