- ➤ On Tuesday, April 21, more than 300 people attended Oak Cottage's fifth annual fundraiser at Factory at Franklin to celebrate women overcoming challenges. The event featured dinner, live music, a silent auction - panel discussions that highlighted the community support provided by the transitional home. Williamson Herald
- ➤ The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamson Prevention Coalition held a Spring Drug Take Back Event — aimed at preventing misuse and accidental overdoses — at Kroger on Murfreesboro Road in Franklin, collecting 40.6 pounds of unused medications. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Franklin Police Department will host a CarFit event on Wed, Apr. 29 at Somerby Franklin from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to offer older drivers a free 20-minute vehicle checkup that teaches proper seat belt use, headrest positioning, mirror adjustments, and foot placement. Williamson Herald

- ➤ Battle Ground Academy Upper School students will compete in their 87th tug-of-war over the Harpeth River on Apr. 29 at 2 p.m. at Highway 96 near Westhaven subdivision, continuing a tradition that began in 1935 as a contest between the school’s literary societies. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Williamson County Schools middle-school and high-school ensembles earned top ratings at spring Concert and Choral Performance Assessments evaluated by MTSBOA and MTVA - many groups impressed judges with strong musical performance and sight-reading skills at local venues. - ➤ Williamson County Schools recognized its March bus drivers at a ceremony on April 15. The drivers, including John Scherrer, Thomas Eslinger, Crystal Graves, Sharon Butler, Carrie McQueen and Laura McQueen, received a free breakfast, gift card plus a certificate from Sonic Drive-In. - ➤ WCS honored top volunteers at its Shining Apple Awards ceremony on Tuesday, Apr. 21 as each of the district's 52 schools selected a honoree and featured videos in which students & staff thanked volunteers for their work. - ➤ Local TSA students from Legacy Middle, Nolensville High, and Page High earned state recognition at the Tennessee State Leadership Conference (they won first place awards in several categories) and will compete at the national conference in Washington, D.C. from June 22 to 26. - ➤ Franklin High Band will host its inaugural golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt Legends Club & everyone is invited to register online as individuals or teams to help raise funds for new instruments and equipment. Williamson County Source
- ➤ Page High theater invites rising sixth to ninth graders to its Musical Theater Summer Camp from July 6-11 at its campus. The camp runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and culminates with Shrek Jr. performances on Saturday, July 11 (registration is $391.70 per camper and includes two complimentary tickets).
