  • Franklin Transit reintroduces its half-price summer fare program for tweens and teens starting Thursday, May 22, offering 50-cent one-way fares for riders aged 12 to 18 until August 10 in Franklin (service operates Monday through Saturday and includes bicycle racks).  Williamson County Source

  • Local historian Paul Clements will discuss his new book Battle Ground Academy: Voices From Back in the Day at the Main Library meeting room on Thursday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m.—the event will highlight the academy's struggles, memorable teachers, and student experiences from decades past.  Williamson County Source

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Battle Ground Academy today recognized three senior student-athletes as they officially signed with colleges to continue their athletic careers — increasing the Class of 2026’s total collegiate signings to 12 while family, coaches and peers celebrated their dedication.  Williamson County Source

  • Franklin Transit Authority held an open house on Tuesday, May 5, where locals enjoyed free tacos from Moe’s Southwest Grill while sharing ideas for improved transit including Sunday service, mobile payments, and new routes to lessen commuter traffic—the FTA also outlined a 10-year master plan for capital improvements downtown.  Williamson Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • Williamson County establishments earned a perfect 100 during health inspections from April 29 to May 6 — all food and beverage locations met safety standards and updated public reports as required by the Department of Health.  Williamson County Source
